What you will be doing: 
The Application Development Manager role is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT Development organization in alignment with the business objectives of the organization.  
You will lead a team of developers and analysts to deliver next generation and back-office support systems.  
The position will not only directly manage a technical team, but will lead process and quality improvement efforts, participate in strategic planning and manage resources across teams.  
Will work closely with other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions.  
Defining and implementing IT policies, procedures, and best practices as it relates to application development and the life cycle.

What you will be doing: 
Responsible for overseeing design, development, integration and deployment of applications systems and services.
Responsibilities include direction for estimating project activities, acquiring resources and defining deliverables.
Oversee development of detailed project plans, scheduled work assignments, and proactive progress monitoring.
Provide leadership in directing/recommending application platforms, developing project budgets and schedules, as needed.
Provide day-to-day oversight and management of the Red Classic IT application development unit, all services and activities.
Identifies, develops updates and enforces application development standards and procedures.
Ensure that best practices and strategic goals are incorporated into development work.
Manage team resources, task priorities and schedules.
Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports and other documentation for application development projects and associated efforts.
Work with vendors and infrastructure groups to integrate hardware and software solutions.
Participates in development and maintenance of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.
Assists with the definition of IT policy and procedure.
Concisely and effectively communicate progress, status and issues to management.
Provide system support to internal and external customers in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
5 – 7+ years application management/development and/or project management, including experience with development environments for design/analysis, release control, version control, performance considerations.
Skills: SQL, Oracle, virtualization technology (VMWare), Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft .NET, .NET Webforms, SQL Server, Powershell
Hands-on experience with relational database platforms such as SQL Server.
Project Management experience
Able to design and implement well-crafted, scalable, and maintainable code.
Managing a software development life cycle is required, including Agile and traditional waterfall.
Experience developing and maintaining Logistics and Transportation Management applications.
Demonstrated ability in building and managing diverse teams.
Creating and implementing IT processes and procedures.
Experience working with cross-functional teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; solid presentation skills.
Strong customer service and support orientation skills.

Plus:
Experience integrating with CRM and ERP systems (Salesforce, SAP)
